Cocoa Amore, a multi-award winning chocolate shop based in the heart of the historic Leicester city centre first opened it’s doors to it’s flagship store in 2013 by founder, Pete Gardner. Through his passion for creating affordable, high quality and ethically sourced chocolate, Cocoa Amore has become the ultimate chocolate experience specialising in hand-made chocolates, immersive and creative workshops and the most indulgent hot-chocolates and gelatos.
The success and growth of the business has seen the opening of two further stores in Leicestershire, namely in the historic market town of Market Harborough and at The Engine Yard, a boutique retail village within the grounds of Belvoir Castle.

Flagship store in Leicester
I was contacted by Pete Gardner, founder and MD of Cocoa Amore at a very exiciting time for the business. The business was about to open doors to it’s first franchise stores at the newly built retail village, The Engine Yard at Belvior Castle and in the heart of Market Harborough. With already a great following and engagement on it’s key social media accounts of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, it was time to expand the brand outside of the city and raise it’s profile within Leicestershire, Rutland and beyond.
With such a strong established and ethical brand, stunning handmade chocolate products combined with my passion for supporting local artisan food and drink makers, this role was a dream come true! Having worked closely with Pete and his team to get to know his drive and his business, I created an in-depth bespoke social media content plan and took over the accounts for a year to help strengthen the brand and place the newly opened franchises firmly on the map in Leicestershire.
After a year, armed with a great insight of the business and it’s online activity alongside a solid social media strategy for Cocoa Amore, it was time to hand the baton back into the safe and highly capable hands of a Cocoa Amore team member. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Pete and his team and be inspired by his passion as well as be part of helping to give it’s new franchises a kick-start on social media, watch them grow from the ground-up and see them thriving a year on.
